Toby stared at the mountain of clothes, books, and snack wrappers covering his bedroom floor. Cleaning his room felt impossible. Just then, the doorbell rang. It was his best friend Mia, and with her stood Dr. Sparks, the neighborhood inventor. Dr. Sparks held a gleaming silver robot. “Meet Robo-Helper! It’s here to help with household chores,” she said, stepping into the chaos of Toby’s room. “Looks like we’ve found the perfect challenge!” 

 

Toby’s jaw dropped. “You mean this robot will clean my room?” he asked. Dr. Sparks nodded proudly. “That’s the plan. Robo-Helper is still learning, though, so it might need some coaching.” She powered the robot on, and it immediately grabbed a sock from the floor. Instead of putting it away, it plopped the sock on its head like a crown. Mia burst out laughing. “I think your robot likes to accessorize!” 

 

“Let’s start with something easy,” Dr. Sparks suggested. “Robo-Helper, pick up the books,” Toby instructed. The robot scanned the room with its blinking blue eyes and stacked the books into a wobbly zigzag tower. The stack swayed dangerously before collapsing. “Hmm, maybe it needs a little practice,” Dr. Sparks said. Next, Mia handed the robot a trash bag. “Put the wrappers in here,” she said. Robo-Helper scooped up the trash, but instead of stopping, it began tap-dancing across the room with the bag. 

 

Toby, Mia, and Dr. Sparks couldn’t stop laughing, but they didn’t give up. They spent the afternoon showing Robo-Helper how to sort clothes, place books neatly on shelves, and sweep the floor without causing a disaster. There were plenty of hilarious mistakes—like when Robo-Helper tried to turn Toby’s pajamas into an origami swan—but with every attempt, the robot got better. 

 

By the end of the day, Toby’s room was spotless. Books were lined up on the shelves, the bed was neatly made, and the floor gleamed. “I can’t believe it!” Toby exclaimed. “My room has never been this clean!” Robo-Helper beeped proudly and did a little victory spin. “Looks like Robo-Helper is ready for its next mission,” Dr. Sparks said with a grin.
