There are a growing number of companies that allow you to personalize your text. We’ve all done it… We change the text size on our phones with a quick hand movement. Instantly, we read more quickly and more accurately. We are familiar with the change to reading performance with simple changes to text size. How can we easily and scalably determine a student’s best reading format? ReadabilityRx | Voice AI is a proof of concept tool–changes in an individual’s oral reading speed and accuracy can be collected electronically and provide important signals.
ReadabilityRx is designed to help parents of students in grades 2-5 explore the impact of different text formats on reading proficiency. The tool presents several short reading passages in different text formats (fonts) and records students as they read each passage aloud for one minute. The reading will be recorded and analyzed by a voice AI system. Parents will receive results via email, providing information on how simple text format changes might improve their child’s reading experience.

What to Expect
- Registration is required for this 5-minute experience. (A computer or tablet is required; the experience will not run on a phone.)
- Your child will read passages presented in different text formats out loud. The reading will be recorded and analyzed by a voice AI system.
- You will receive insights via email within a few hours to a few days.
