Personalized Reading is the Future
While the Jetsons foretold large screens, electronic reading, and virtual meetings, they completely missed the promise of personalized text formats for better reading experiences.
In a recent discussion with the California Department of Education, Barbara Murchison, Director
Educator Excellence of Equity Division didn’t miss the importance of better readability. She immediately saw the potential for improved reading experiences to positively impact student outcomes. In her words,
“When I was a kid, the Jetson’s promised us flying cars and robot maids in the future. We didn’t get either. They didn’t even think of this–and this is way cooler.”
